A classic blackjack game with vanilla rules and decent winning chances at 99.35%, American Blackjack from Betsoft offers impeccable multihand experience enabling players from New Zealand to play one through three hands at a time and bet NZ$1 to NZ$100 on each. Though played with 6 decks, which whittles the player edge slightly, this blackjack variation is based on a traditional, well-balanced set of rules.

American Blackjack from the mentioned software company was released in November 2019, thus its graphics is fairly modern and sleek, with a player being able to adjust a few parameters to suit his style, for example, card/chips animations speed. Newcomers are offered helpful tips when they allegedly make wrong choices, like trying to draw a card to 20. A small dialogue box that appears asks whether the player is sure he wants to proceed with that specific action.

The first step is to place a real money bet (in some online casinos, bitcoin can be an option). Then the software deals one open and one hole card to the dealer and two cards to the player. Depending on the total score in the hand, a player then makes a decision whether to hit, stand, score or double down. If dealer’s upcard is an ace or any ten-valued card, he peeks for blackjack at the beginning of the round.

If the initial player’s hand is 10 or 11, a double down option shows up. Using it will double the current wager and add the third card to the hand. A player is allowed to split any pair once. As a result of a split, there will be formed two new hands, each requiring the same original amount of bet. In case of tied hands, the bet is returned (this is known as Push). Dealer’s rules are mandatory, meaning the dealer is forced to act in a preset way, for example, in this American Blackjack, the dealer must hit on soft 17 (this diminishes player advantage by 0.22%).

For every online casino blackjack, there is an optimal strategy that dictates how to act in certain situations. Betsoft offers an integrated Rules page that describes the basic blackjack strategy and a few play tips for inexperienced players. There is also an Insurance option offered as soon as dealer’s up card is an ace, which means high chances of his having blackjack. If the player clicks Insurance and the dealer does reveal blackjack, the insurance bet pays out 2:1. Actually, American Blackjack designed by Betsoft guys is a worthy choice for New Zealand players.
